The State Housing Company has been honored with a Platinum Award at the 16th Ashanti Business Excellence Awards “in recognition of its Outstanding Contributions to the Economic Development of Ashanti”.
The rebranded SHC picked up the Platinum Award in the Real Estate category at the 16th edition of the Ashanti Business Excellence Awards held in Kumasi over the weekend.
Some 25 companies, organisations and agencies operating in the Ashanti Region were recognised at the 2019 edition of the Awards, for their excellent services and contribution to the overall development of the Ashanti Region.
Organised by Top Brass Events under the auspices of the Manhyia Palace, the 16th edition was held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the rule of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II.
Receiving the award, Deputy Managing Director of State Housing Company, Roni Nicol on behalf of the company expressed gratitude to the organizers and assured home seekers in Ashanti Region that “State Housing Company is reborn and it is not a fluke. We are here to solve your accommodation problems”

The reinvigorated SHC has turned it’s attention to provide homes especially in Ashanti Region since the management took office. It would be recalled that last year August, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo cut the sod for the construction of 225 housing units at Oyoko Akrofuom in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.
The project, named J.A. Kufuor Estate is aimed at addressing the housing deficit in the country.
The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, it would be recalled, recently made available about.. of land at Dedeso to SHC to provide homes for dwellers in the Region giving reinforcing SHC’s position as the the Nation’s No. 1 home provider.
