OTUMFUO GIVES 200 ACRE LAND TO STATE HOUSING COMPANY Ltd.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II through the Ministry of Works and Housing has allocated about 205 acres of land at Dedesua, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region to State Housing Company Limited for construction of affordable houses to help reduce the high housing deficit in the country. This is also to create jobs for the youth and to bring development to the people of Ashanti Region.

When commenced, the project would be the second major housing project to be undertaken in the Ashanti Region by State Housing Company Ltd.

In August 2018, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo cut the sod to start the construction of the John Agyekum Kufuor Estates in Oyoko Akrofrom off Abuakwa Road, Housing Junction also in the Ashanti Region.

We are collaborating with various government agencies and departments under our institutional housing projects to finance and build for staff of these institutions at an affordable cost.

State Housing Company Ltd. makes owning a home much easier for its clients. The State Housing Company has constructed about 7500 homes within the Ashanti Zone since the 1950s.

The revamped SHC has embarked on massive constructions across the country while there are ongoing discussions with some strategic institutions to venture into joint projects.

Some of the ongoing projects include housing for immigration officers in Tamale, expansion on housing estates in Sunyani, construction of apartments in Adenta, Accra, construction of apartments in North Kaneshie, Accra, the source added.

There are other projects which are scheduled to commence this year which include the construction of 1,000 housing units for the Ghana Health Service in Sewia, Ashanti Region and the redevelopment of Kanda and Ringway Estates in Accra and Anaji Estates in the Western Region.
