The State Housing Company Limited (SHC) has made a bold impression on the global stage at the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 17 May 2026 – 22 May 2026.
As part of Ghana’s high-level delegation, SHC’s Managing Director, Mr. John S. Bawah, delivered a presentation at the Africa Affordable Housing Compact Deal Room & Investor Session, a high-stakes, two-hour ministerial and investor dialogue convened by UN-Habitat in collaboration with the Shelter Afrique Development Bank.
The session, attended by ministers, mayors, development finance institutions, and private investors from across the continent, focused on moving Africa’s housing commitments into investment-ready pipelines. A conversation SHC sat squarely at the centre of.
Mr. Bawah joined a C-Suite panel of Africa’s foremost housing and finance leaders, bringing Ghana’s affordable housing agenda, including projects like the Green City, Dedesua into a continental conversation about blended finance, project bankability, and scalable delivery.
Africa faces a housing deficit of over 60 million units, projected to hit 130 million by 2030. Forums like WUF13 are where solutions are shaped and Ghana showed up.
