Nana Tabono Bonsu III, Akyeasehene of Akim Akyease in the Juaben Municipal Assembly in Ashanti Region has given a 200 acre parcel of land to the State Housing Company Ltd.
The offer is to help SHC realize its vision of bridging the worrying housing deficit in the country as it seeks to provide affordable accommodation to civil and public servants in in ever district.

The government through SHC, is committed to provide decent accommodation to civil and public servants especially who are posted to the various Districts. To this end, the company is seeking unencumbered land across the country to execute such projects. It is based on that request that the Akyeasehe, Nana Tabono Bonsu III, in consultation with his Elders, decided to offer the land the SHC.
At a durbar to formally outdoor the project and symbolically hand over the land to SHC, the Akyeasehe said the town is a short distance from adjoining Districts and so the housing project would benefit about three Districts since dwellers can commute easily because of proximity.

He applauded government for such an initiative and prayed for a successful completion of the housing project.
Operations Manager of SHC, Mr. Daniel Dwamena speaking to the media, assured the indigenes that labour would be sourced from within the community. After the Community Durbar, Elders of the town together with officials of State Housing Company inspected the site for the proposed project.
