{"id":7422,"date":"2026-04-18T11:56:33","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T11:56:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.shcl.com\/?p=7422"},"modified":"2026-04-18T11:56:34","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T11:56:34","slug":"complementary-infrastructure-challenges-slowing-housing-delivery-shcl-md","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/statehousing.gov.gh\/?p=7422","title":{"rendered":"Complementary Infrastructure Challenges Slowing Housing Delivery, SHCL MD"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The State Housing Company Limited (SHCL) on Monday, May 6, 2025 received a monitoring team from the Parliamentary Select Committee on Works and Housing, which toured key ongoing housing projects in&nbsp;<em>Pokuase, Amrahia<\/em>, and&nbsp;<em>Adenta<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team, led by Hon. Vincent Oppong Asamoah, MP for Dormaa West and Chair of the Committee, expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work at the sites and reaffirmed the committee\u2019s support to help SHCL complete the projects and maintain affordability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the engagement, SHCL Managing Director, Mr. John S. Bawah, highlighted delays in complementary infrastructure \u2014 such as roads, drainage, and water systems \u2014 as major obstacles affecting the timely completion of some projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/statehousing.gov.gh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0J9A3807-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3023\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese are critical elements that must be addressed before we can finish and hand over these homes,\u201d Mr. Bawah stated. \u201cWe are counting on the government to fast-track these works.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further suggested that if SHCL were given clearance to construct these amenities themselves, the company could include the costs in the price of the homes.
