The Managing Director of State Housing Company Limited, Mr. John S. Bawah, has paid a courtesy call on His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi. The visit forms part of ongoing engagements with key traditional leaders to strengthen partnerships that support the company’s mission of providing affordable housing across Ghana.
Accompanied by SHCL staff from the Head offfice and the Ashanti Zonal office, Mr. Bawah held discussions with the Asantehene on potential collaborations to address housing challenges in the Ashanti Region and beyond.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II emphasized the potential for State Housing Company to scale up delivery. He noted that private sector players have demonstrated the capacity to undertake viable real estate projects at scale and encouraged the company to adopt similar approaches to meet the growing demand for housing. He urged the company to adopt strategic initiatives, form investor partnerships, and modernize its infrastructure to remain competitive.
A key highlight of the visit was the Asantehene’s commitment to support the company by providing land for development.
Mr. Bawah expressed gratitude to His Majesty for the warm reception and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to working closely with traditional authorities to deliver sustainable housing solutions that align with cultural and community values.
